An Assistant Teacher provides support and assistance to the lead teacher in the classroom during instruction and transitional times, such as directed lessons, free play, circle time, snack, playground, music, and lunch. They help provide a safe, nurturing, positive environment and help maintain classroom management.
The Infant/Toddler Lead teacher will develop a program along established guidelines and provide a safe, nurturing, positive classroom environment. The lead teacher works with the assistant teacher as a team to implement daily teaching and learning activities. Expectations of Infant/Toddler teachers are to be kind, professional, helpful, self-starters, and creative. Infant/Toddler teachers will design plans to meet the individual needs of each child in order to reach his/her maximum potential. Additionally, Infant/Toddler teachers need to adapt easily and be sensitive to the needs of the families, while meeting the constantly changing needs of the infants.

The JCC Rockland Camps Registrar plays an integral role in building our growing camp program and being an agent for change and positive growth. The JCC Rockland Camps Registrar must be capable of “switching gears” – being approachable and fun when working with children while being organized and professional when in the office.
The JCC Rockland Camps Registrar is a will report to the JCC Rockland Program Director. The position requires expertise in working with children in an informal or experiential environment, such as summer camp or recreational children’s programs. The JCC Rockland Camps Registrar supervises staff and works alongside a team of professional colleagues as part of the JCC’s program team.
We are looking for someone energetic and motivated, with a positive, can-do attitude. We provide unique and engaging summer experiences for campers ages 18 months through entering 10th grade.
As a specialist, you will function in a teaching role for both campers and counselors. You will be responsible for age-appropriate lesson planning to show growth and development, both physically and social-emotionally, as well as maintaining organization in your area. We all grow together!

As a camp Lifeguard and WSI, you will be responsible for the safety and learning to swim process of our campers.
Note: Will certify qualified candidates if not currently lifeguard or WSI certified
