Beginner Clinic

Session dates: 2/8, 2/15, 2/22

2–4pm

New players looking to learn:

  • Correct grip on a paddle
  • Ready position
  • Volley and half volley
  • Scoring
  • Safe movement on the court

Intermediate Clinic

Session dates: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2

3–5pm

  • Use of split step and dinking
  • Shot selection
  • Ability to direct a volley to specific location on the court
  • Drop shot
  • Various strategy techniques

Wellness and Recovery

Healthy Heart Lunch and Learn Lecture

Tuesday, Feb 14, Noon. Complimentary for JCC Fitness & Wellness Members. Register at the Reception Desk.

Dr. Yoram Amsalem, a cardiologist with Metropolitan Cardiology Consultants and Bon Secours Medical Group and a native Israeli, will speak about the latest heart disease prevention and treatment.

Corrective Exercise Workshops with Personal Trainers

Working with a Personal Trainer is the safest, and most effective way to get results and prevent injury.

Push, Pull & Rotate or Squat, Lunge & Hinge. Everyone knows the exercises, but are you doing them correctly? Learn the ins and outs of these foundational movements at one of these Corrective Exercise Workshops.

Balance and Mobility

There are so many ways to improve your balance through exercise. The J barre classes, mobility classes, yoga, Pilates, and functional fitness classes each week. We also have equipment like TRX straps, balance boards, and cable machines that are perfect for improving balance and mobility. Want to learn more? Contact Lisa.

Outside the Gym: Working with people has been my passion for over 35 years. In my free time I follow my favorite sports teams: Steelers, Yankees and Islanders.

Fun Fact: Every year we take a family vacation to ocean city Maryland to enjoy the sun and Seafood.

Pickleball and Shooting Hoops

Schedule is subject to change. Special events may close the gymnasium on occasion. Open gym times are for Fitness members and their paid guests only. If you would like more information about membership, please see the reception desk.

Open Gym indicates half of the gym may be used for shooting hoops, and the other half for Pickleball. Pickleball and Pick-up Basketball require reservations on the My Wellness App. Please bring basketballs, pickleballs & pickleball paddles. Pickleball players are responsible for setting up/taking down Pickleball nets.

Virtual Support

Booking & Reservations

The booking window for all reservations opens 3 days prior at 12pm. The most efficient way to book is on the app. You may also ask our reception team to make the reservation for you, but we kindly ask that you do not ask our receptionists to book a session before the window opens. They will not be able to accommodate this request. You can set a reminder to book any future class as soon as the booking window opens by simply hitting the bell icon on the reservation list.

You may find yourself on a waiting list for a class or court time. When spots become available, everyone on the waitlist receives a notification at the same time. Bookings then happen on a first-come, first serve basis.

If you book a timeslot and decide not to play, kindly unbook yourself.
