Our day begins on a tour of the Museum’s core exhibits, Taking visitors from the 1880s to present day, featuring more than 800 artifacts and 2,000 photographs that illustrate Jewish history and highlight personal experience of global significance. We will then enjoy kosher lunch before entering the theatre for a performance of Fiddler on the Roof presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, experience this classic in a new way– in Yiddish, the language of Tevye and his family! Directed by Oscar and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, the rich translation by Shraga Friedman, z”l, adds new depth and dimension to the most well-known Jewish musical in the world. One of show business’s most classic and beloved tales, 42nd Street tells the story of Peggy Sawyer, a talented young performer – straight off the bus from Allentown, PA – who arrives in New York armed with her tap shoes and big dreams. Peggy’s talent catches the eye of legendary Broadway director Julian Marsh, who gives her a spot in the chorus of his newest show – much to the leading lady’s chagrin. 42nd Street’s tap happy score features “We’re in the Money”, “Lullaby of Broadway”, “Shuffle off to Buffalo” and more. Before the show explore the shops of New Hope and enjoy lunch on your own in one of its numerous restaurants.
