Coney Island and More

Brooklyn, NY
Thursday, Apr 30

Visit famous Coney Island along with other nearby eclectic Brooklyn neighborhoods. Coney Island was known as ‘America’s Playground’ because of its revolutionary role as a place of summer leisure and amusement. It is the birthplace of the rollercoaster and the frankfurter. 3 legendary amusement parks once provided entertainment to myriads of New Yorkers (sometimes over 2 million people on a single summer weekend!). On this visit, learn more about the fascinating history while getting a feel for Coney Island’s current quirky atmosphere. See the landmark icons that remain today: the Cyclone, Wonder Wheel and Parachute Jump. Then go on to visit nearby neighborhoods. This includes ‘Little Odessa’ Brighton Beach, Orthodox Jewish Midwood, or Victorian Flatbush (a district of beautiful freestanding wooden mansions).
