Bobbi & Barry Lewis Jewish Community Center at Founders Celebration
The Legacy of Bobbi & Barry Lewis z”l
and
And Alan Feldstein, recipient of the
Estelle & Allan Eisenkraft z”l Founders Award
Bobbi & Barry Lewis’ story is, in many ways, the story of Jewish communal life itself – rooted in tradition, strengthened by connection, and guided by the belief that we are responsible for one another. They understood that a strong Jewish community does not happen by accident, but is built through generosity, responsibility, and love.
Through their philanthropic leadership, Bobbi and Barry invested deeply in our county, supporting children and seniors, education and culture, healthcare, and the shared spaces that bring people together. Their legacy has not only supported this JCC, but strengthened it, expanding its reach and helping to ensure that Jewish life in Rockland remains vibrant and thriving.
The naming of the Bobbi & Barry Lewis Jewish Community Center stands as an enduring reflection of their commitment to Jewish life, Jewish continuity, and the power of community. It signals to future generations that Jewish life matters, that community matters, and that this center is here to stay.
May this name honor not only what the Lewis family has built, but the future they have helped ensure.
Throughout three full terms on our Board, Alan served with distinction as Treasurer, consistently bringing a steady, thoughtful presence to every meeting and decision. He embraced the role not simply as a position of responsibility, but as a sacred opportunity to serve the community he loves. Alan embodied achrayut – communal responsibility – in both word and deed, always approaching his leadership with care, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the greater good.
Thoughtful, trusted, and deeply principled, Alan’s impact will be felt for years to come. We are proud and grateful to honor his steadfast service as this year’s recipient of the Estelle & Allan Eisenkraft z”l Founders Award.
