Pilates, Pain and Golf?
I’ve been playing golf since I was 2 years old. In 2005, I joined the LPGA tour and I continue to play professionally in tours across the country.
As a professional athlete, I developed a series of nagging and painful back injuries. I needed to be in top physical shape so I had to resolve this on-going problem. Doctor after doctor suggested the same thing: Pilates.
Pilates, they assured me, would strengthen my core, which would in turn, support my back. A strong core is essential for a good swing.
As luck would have it, I was a member at JCC Rockland. I set up an appointment for a complimentary Pilates reformer session and I have not looked back.
My instructor, Sarah, delivered results immediately. As Sarah and I continued to work together I no longer experienced back pain. Pilates also helped me look leaner, improve my posture and tone my muscles. Sarah’s wealth of knowledge about muscles, the human body and Pilates combined with her professionalism, transformed my body and my life.
Yes, I am a professional athlete. But anyone at any fitness level can benefit from Pilates. Pilates can help anyone strengthen their core, avoid injury and reduce certain types of pain. Pilates transformed my life and it can do the same for you.
