Hod Hasharon

The visit from 11th and 12th grade students from Hod Hasharon, Israel is a highlight of the JCC teen experience. Every Spring, approximately 35 teens from Hod Hasharon visit our community and spend the week connecting with Jewish teens through joint recreational, educational and social action programs. Families of these Rockland teens have the opportunity to host these Isareli teens in their homes during this week.

Through this experience teens will:

  • Learn about the Isareli culture.
  • Engage with other Jewish teens in the community.
  • Participate in a social action programming that will make a difference in the community.
  • Make connections with Israeli peers that will last a lifetime.

Become a Host Family

Become a host family for our annual program bringing together Israeli teenagers from Mossenzohn High School in Hod HaSharon, Israel with local high school juniors and seniors from Rockland County.

Dates
Thursday, Apr 2 – Monday, Apr 6, 2020

A number of exciting outings will take place including visits to the UN and the Statue of Liberty, an overnight trip to Washington DC and a thrilling day at 6 Flags Great Adventure. Our Israeli teens will also have many social opportunities to connect with Rockland teens, including participating in sporting events, a Shabbat Dinner, shopping trips, and other evening events. In addition, host families will treat the visiting teens to an additional experience while bonding and learning about their cultures.

TO BECOME A HOST FAMILY, please contact Brent Osborne at brento@jccrockland.org.
Host families typically have a high school junior or senior living in their household; however, accommodations with other host families may be needed.
