Combating the Opioid Epidemic

Detective Brian Callanan will use a PowerPoint to provide an informative session on drug use and availability in our homes, our schools and our communities. He will also discuss growing drug trends and the strategies being implemented by law enforcement to combat drug abuse and the Opioid epidemic.

Brian Callanan has been in law enforcement for the past 27 years. During this time, he was a Detective with the New York City Police Department where he was assigned to the Organized Crime Control Bureau Narcotics Division and the New York City Drug Enforcement Task Force. While in these assignments, he was involved in investigations ranging from street drug sales to complex cases involving international drug trafficking. In 2006 he was hired by the Clarkstown Police Department where he is currently working as a Detective. On a daily basis, Detective Callanan is assigned to investigate a variety of cases which include drug use, sales and overdoses.

Bagels and coffee are available at a nominal fee.
