Amy is a busy mom of 2, a middle school French teacher of 14 years, and the owner of FIT4MOM Rockland, which opened in 2019. FIT4MOM Rockland offers fitness and community by moms for moms. With weekly fitness classes, playgroups, and moms’ nights outs, FIT4MOM provides young moms with the opportunity to connect within the local community. The signature class is Stroller Strides, featuring a total-body workout for mom with strength, cardio, and core training, all will engaging the little ones in a stroller with songs, puppets, bubbles, and more! The JCC has become the winter home for these stroller classes plus the moms-only Body Well training and FIT4BABY prenatal groups.
Amy also believes in the importance of community outreach and giving back. Therefore, she regularly participates in service activities to model these values with the moms and children of FIT4MOM Rockland. Past community projects have included a diaper drive and blessing bags for Center for Safety & Change, filling holiday wish lists for United Way of Rockland’s Hope for the Holidays, backpack drives for the Nyack Center, an Earth Day park clean up at Tallman State Park, and decorating cards for the Centro de Amigos. Amy also serves as a committee member for the Montefiore Nyack Foundation Rides & Strides event. FIT4MOM is a sponsor of the Kids Fun Run the event this fall, which benefits the Breast Center at the hospital. Additionally, the FIT4MOM Run Club+ participates in various local races that go to great local causes as well!
Since becoming parents, Amy and her husband, Justin, have also enjoyed finding their own opportunities for community and connection at the J. Their daughter Emma had the most incredible summer in camp’s J-Land program - the splash pad and zip-lining were her big summer highlights! Emma is also playing in her second season of soccer in the Mini Soccer program.
In her (very limited!) free time, Amy enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, connecting with friends, and trying new restaurants with her husband. She is truly honored to be part of Night Under The Stars.

Show MoreEkka has been involved in the JCC Rockland throughout her entire life, from Mitzvah Makers and Maccabi Games to sports programming and holiday and community celebrations and more. The JCC in all of its previous homes is something she remembers fondly—memories of purim carnivals, time in the gym, mitzvah days, and even celebrating her Sweet 16 at the location on Route 45.
