Corona Life: One Woman’s Experience

Ok, you’ve been sitting around long enough. Who is going to win, you or the virus? As long as you are healthy, you will be the winner.

Enough sitting around in pajamas all day watching TV, cruising social media, snacking, and reading. It’s time to add some structure to your day.

Structure is important. There are no excuses, and you don’t have much else to do. Just do it!!!

Get out of that rut. Change out of those PJ’s and put on workout clothes. Set a time each day to work out and stay consistent. You can find a wide variety of at home workouts on our webpage or a new workout everyday on our app.

Give your time at home purpose, enhance your immune system, and get stronger overall. Is it a beautiful day? If so, your workout can be a walk or run, just remember to social distance.

Here’s the schedule I’ve been keeping:
6:30 AM Wake up, get out of pajamas and into workout wear
7 – 8:30 AM Workout
8:30 AM Shower and dress in comfy clothes, no sitting around in pj’s all day
9AM – 5PM Work from home
1- 2 PM Break to skype with grandchildren, take a walk, have lunch
5 – 6:30 PM Prepare dinner and eat
6:30 – 9:30PM Whatever I decide, pajamas are ok now

It feels good to have this routine and I feel that the active portions of my day clear my head, take me away from this crazy world, and deliver me back as a more positive, productive and centered person.

As you can see, I have plenty of time to work from home, watch some TV, read, cook meals (something new for me), spend time with my husband and catch up with friends & family. There are a lot of hours in the day, make them work for you.

Need help getting started? I am here to help. Just email me at jodie@jccrockland.org and I will point you in the right direction. We are all in this together, let’s come out of it healthier, stronger, more confident with a greater sense of self. WE CAN DO THIS.
