Core strength and the six PILATES PRINCIPLES – centering, control, concentration, precision, breath and flow – set the Pilates method apart from other types of exercise. All exercises are developed with modifications that can make a workout safe and challenging for a person at any level.

Mindful movement can help decrease back pain, improve posture, improve coordination, balance, relieve stress, and improve athletic performance.

Strength, Flexibility, Agility. Pilates is an innovative system of exercise that dramatically transforms the way a body looks, feels, and most importantly, performs. It emphasizes core strength, proper breathing, and correct spinal and pelvic alignment. When the core (deep abdominals) is strong, the back, arms, and legs will function at an optimum level.

The private Pilates Studio provides an environment committed to total body-mind balance. Whether a beginner or an experienced athlete, JCC Rockland instructors will evaluate a client’s needs and personalize a program that will be the most effective and results driven! The hands-on professional instruction and highly experienced staff will guarantee that the client leaves each session feeling stronger, refreshed and energized. Sessions are available to members and non-members by appointment only.

Pilates Reformer

Experience the Reformer in a small group class format. It lengthens and strengthens the whole body while also working to achieve correct alignment and posture. Class is limited to six people.
